A Sacred Medicine Retreat

Unmask Yourself: Embrace Your Spiritual Nature
With Christina Ingenito and The Transformational Journeys Team

Saturday April 13 — 20, 2024
Con Smania CR, Playa Buena Vista, Samara, Costa Rica

Whatever your gift,
I urge you to bring yourself,
open up a heart space for yourself
and for the people you are
privileged to journey with.
Offer yourself up from
what you have already done
in becoming who you are.
Through the practice
of expression
we wake up to life.
What we feel, experience,
and imagine is
within and beyond us.
It is a way of keeping our
light unblocked and shining.
~ Mark Nepo

Your Guide Throughout The Experiences

Christina Ingenito

I am a Medicine Woman, poetry curator, and lover of Eros and the natural world. I have explored the realms of expanded states of consciousness through sacred medicines, breath work, sacred sexuality and spirituality, and nature-based healing traditions for most all of my adult life.

I am a graduate of the Certificate Program in Psychedelic Therapies and Research at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco; and I am certified in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy through the Ketamine Training Center in San Anselmo, California, and am certified in MDMA-assisted psychotherapy through MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies). I have taught and presented at several psychedelic trainings and conferences, including EOLPC (End of Life Psychedelic Care), Psychedelic Sciences, Synthesis, and the San Francisco Jung Institute, amongst many others. I am also the Clinical Director of the Diaspora Psychedelic Society in Jamaica.

I’ve also had the extraordinary good fortune to be a participant in a MAPS Phase 2 Clinical Trial for people with anxiety disorders related to life-threatening illness, for which I unfortunately qualified. Actually, it wasn’t really unfortunate at all — it was the portal into an extraordinary new chapter of my life.

While I clearly have a strong clinical background in this work, my deepest devotion to sacred medicine work is rooted in the exploration and celebration of the numinous, the mystical, and the mysterious. I also hold with great reverence, the healing and evolutionary potentials that these medicines offer — for the individual, the collective, and the planet — and I hold a responsibility to our work with them in service to the greater good.

My lineages include: psychotherapy, hospice work, restorative justice, sacred sexuality, and memoir writing. I have worked as a transpersonal, relational, and somatic psychotherapist since 1986. My work as a hospice social worker and grief counselor spans 30 years. I have been an advocate and activist for the marginalized and disenfranchised for decades, and I have facilitated Restorative Justice groups with men serving life in prison at San Quentin prison since 2015. I worked as the Director of the Women’s Program at the Body Electric School, and am a Certified Sexological Bodyworker. I have written, produced, and performed solo performance shows around the San Francisco Bay Area, in New York City, and beyond.

Many influences have shaped, inspire, and sustain me, including intentional circles of authenticity, intimacy, embodiment; raising our voices together in song and as believers in liberation; the divine feminine; music and trees; social justice and responsibility, especially related to women’s issues and anti-racism. I am known for cultivating awe and wonder; uproarious laughter and play; a deep capacity for embracing the all and everything of life; and my intrepid passion for exploring the inner and outer landscapes of life. I love to swim in warm seas; dance and sing; travel off the beaten path; and take photos of faces, flowers, forests, amongst a million other things.

I live and thrive at the intersection of mystery, social justice, empowerment, and vulnerability.
